Mariposa L'abri Jackson is born!

November 22, 2014
Saturday morning 2:08am
5lbs 4oz, 19 inches long.

She is beautiful! The Lord is good! The baby and Sarah are doing well! Trying to catch up on rest and teach Mary to feed good before we leave for home tomorrow morning. She started out slow but is starting to figure it out pretty well.
Sarah did so well and was so brave and strong. Her mother and I were with her through the whole thing. She did it all completely natural with no epidural and no complications! Praise the Lord!
They are taking good care of us here. We got a special meal for lunch that included steak, shrimp, mashed potatoes and cheese cake! (chocolate fudge cake for me).

Thank you all for your prayers!

First Anniversary!

On October 13th we celebrated our first anniversary as husband and wife! It has been a truly beautiful year: the best year of my life. I'm continually amazed by how I really do understand my relationship with God better through my relationship with Billy. We've been told that the second year of marriage was the hardest for many couples, so please keep praying for us!

To celebrate, we went to a Bed and Breakfast in the little town of Augusta, MO. Since our anniversary was on a Monday, we decided to go the following Friday (which happens to be my birthday). It was such a sweet and special time!

We got up early Saturday morning and snuck down the road to a park that overlooked the Missouri River for some chilly Sunrise photos. It was so beautiful!

We both had very crazy hair!

A Real Live Update!

After much talking and decision making, we are finally able to give you a real update!

First of all, you probably know that we are not at RGBI yet. Apparently August was not the time that God had in mind for us to be there. Our new goal is January, 2015. School semesters begin in January and August, and we hope to start Language School in January!

Second, you may have noticed that our Pac-Man's grin has decreased a little. This is not due to a decrease in funding! On the contrary, God has been so gracious to send more generous people our way! Our percentage has gone down, because the amount that we need to raise has increased from $2500 to $2800 a month. Why is that, you ask?

Baby Girl Jackson! (Due 12/13/14)

We are so excited to welcome this little girl into our lives and bring her in on this adventure!

Please pray with us that God will provide the rest of the funding we need to go! He has been so faithful and generous to us, and we rejoice that we can trust in His ability and perfect timing.

Also, if you know of anyone who would be interested in hearing about us, please send them our way! We're doing our best to make new contacts, but any help is extremely welcome!

Our Praying Family

This week I'd like to share with you about the group that may be our most vital asset in following God's call to RGBI (and really in every part of our lives).

Billy took the idea of the Praying Family from Francis Schaeffer's articles of faith for the L'abri Fellowship. Our adapted definition goes like this:
Christians who feel led by the Holy Spirit to covenant with God to assume special and regular prayer responsibility for Billy & Sarah Jackson shall be considered as part of The Praying Family. The Praying Family of Billy & Sarah Jackson is to be understood as active in the work, and is to be considered an important and essential part of the structure of Billy & Sarah Jackson's ministry.

Basically, the Praying Family is a group of people who have promised to pray for us. They are kept well informed through many emails, and are often the first to know about any new occurrences in our lives. This group of brothers and sisters means more to us than we could ever express. It is such a comfort to be able to pour our hearts out to them and know that they will take our needs straight before the Lord in prayer!

While many of the members of our Praying Family are also financial supporters, many others are not. This is a ministry that any believer can be a part of. So many times in my life all I've had to offer a brother or sister is prayer. I never realized what an amazing, important, and powerful gift that was until now.

If you would like to commit to praying regularly for us, and would like to receive updates as a member of our Praying Family, please send us a note using the form in the upper right of the page (across from the Pac-Man). In the message, please specify that you would like to join the Praying Family, so that we don't just put your email on our Newsletter List!

Dios los bendiga, amigos!
Thank you for your time. :)

In the Love of Christ,
Billy & Sarah Jackson

Receiving Our Newsletters

For a long time I've wanted to find a way to make signing up for our newsletter a simpler process. When presenting at churches or small groups we bring a sign-up sheet that makes it pretty easy, but anyone else has to take the time to send us their contact information and let us know they want regular updates. There must be a better way!

Well, we found a slightly simpler path! Look over that way ------------------>
You can now send us your name and email address, and we'll take care of the rest! It's quick and easy, although you will have to put something in the message box, as I can't figure out how to get that to go away.

IF YOU'RE ALREADY RECEIVING OUR NEWSLETTER and you would like to change something (receive it by email rather than snail-mail, for example), this is a great way to let us know!

We're doing our best to switch to email newsletters as much as possible. Not only is it cheaper, but we're able to get it to you MUCH faster!

Thank you for your interest in our lives and where God is leading us! We hope to be able to take you along on the adventure of our lives for many years to come!

Hello, Dear Friends!

I apologize for the long delay in posts since our trip to Mexico! As soon as we got back we had a family reunion to attend, then made a whirlwind trip to Wisconsin to celebrate some friends' graduation. At last it feels like our bodies are beginning to recuperate, and life is beginning to get a normal rhythm again.

You may (or may not) have noticed that we haven't been actively raising support lately. While our desire to get to RGBI hasn't diminished in the least, there were some very good questions raised by those who love us that needed to be answered before we pursued more partners in this ministry. These questions included questions like, "If Billy is recording a class and believes that the professor has begun teaching heresy, how will that be handled?" All good things that we had not formerly considered.
Because of the time of year, it took a long time to get some of the needed answers, but as of this week all of them have been satisfactorily answered, and we are charging forward!

Something wonderful happened while we waited, however. Something, well, jaw-dropping.
Although we did little more than pray during this time, our support jumped up to 27%! Mr. PacMan can't believe it (just look at his face)!

Add to that the fact that our financial report for May hasn't come in yet (it is a VERY busy time of year for RGBI staff), and we have even more to praise God for! We're excited to see how much more God provided last month!

So please keep praying that God will continue to provide! Pray that He will give us wisdom, patience, and persistence. Our supporters mean so much to us, and I am truly in awe of how much love and support we have already. God will get us there in the perfect time, and we pray that that perfect time is soon!

Love in Christ,
Sarah & Billy Jackson

About the Medical Clinic

On Saturday (the first full day we were here in Matamoros) we helped with a Medical Clinic outreach. Our team nurse, Stephanie (my mom) saw more than twenty patients while the rest of us had water balloon battles and played soccer with their children. The pastor's wife, Hermana Sara, is a beautician, and during the clinic she and a beauty school friend offered free hair cuts, which were very popular.

Almost everything our enfermera (nurse) needed was available thanks to all of the donations we received, and she was able to help people treat muscle pain, back pain, UTIs, and much more! A local pediatrician came and saw many children. I don't know how many, but they were adorable!

The most dramatic case of the day came when the doctor wrote a prescription for a little girl to get a shot, and asked Mom to do it. Terrified, the little patient took off running, only to be scooped up by the doctor and held fast until the shot had been given! She screamed and screamed, but we pray that she will be well soon.

Since Saturday we have had the honor of visiting drug rehab centers every morning and hosting soccer tournaments every evening. At each of these Nurse Estephany has brought a "mobile medical clinic," taking temperatures, blood pressures and sugars, and administering minor pain relievers and advice. It's been a tremendous blessing to the people we have met, and we are so thankful that God sent her on this trip!

Thank you for your prayers! Please keep praying! We're almost finished here for now, but pray that we finish well!

Quick Video clip

A quick video clip of Aaron Sutton telling about the problem of sin about the hope of the Gospel, and then the Pastor praying for the boys. This is right before the final game of the soccer tournament. Tonight/evening/noche we are having another tournament at another city park. It looks like there will be even more boys than Saturday (there were six teams and about 30 boys Sat)

To get the most recent updates on how the trip is going follow the Psalm 67 Mission page on Facebook. This is where updates are most easily and frequently posted.

Soccer Tournament and Gospel Presentation

These pictures are from Saturday. (May 24th) We had a soccer tournament (the gringo's participated) at one of the city soccer fields. The Pastor had handed out flyers telling about it a day or so before. Before the the final game of the tournament Aaron followed up the Pastor shared the Gospel to the boys.

Tonight we handed out flyers at another city park where we will be having a tournament tomorrow. We will be having  three more of these at different parks throughout the week. At each one we will be sharing the Gospel. The girls will have opportunities to interact and share with many children as well.

Pray the Lord will use these times and efforts to draw the lost to himself. Pray that relationships will be formed that can be followed up by the members of the church and the Pastor.

Saturday we also had a medical clinic. It looks like We will be having other medical clinics throughout the week possibly as well. Be Tough Be Flexible is definitely a must as new projects and adjusted activities come our way.

Please also pray that the the Lord would help us to use the photos and video that Sarah and I have been taking. We have a LOT of it already!
Glory to God for using His children to do his work!
